At BSG girls achieve top grades with the vast majority going on to their first choice university, but in addition they also establish friends for life alongside the foundations for personal fulfilment and a rewarding career. The Head of Sixth Form, individual tutors and subject teachers all play an important part in providing appropriate advice and guidance in supporting each girl’s academic and personal progress.
Our girls go on to study at a wide range of ‘Russell Group’ and ‘1994 Group’ universities amongst others, such as Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Southampton, UCL and Warwick. Subjects read include Art, Accountancy & Finance, Business, Classics, Event Management, Law, Medicine, Psychology and Veterinary Science to name just a few.
We are proud of all our old girls' achievements including 2015 graduates, Harriet Sharp, a 2010 leaver who graduated with a first class honours degree in Medicine from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, Lydia Newton, a 2009 leaver who graduated in Medicine from Newcastle University and Louise Dubuisson, a 2010 leaver who graduated with first class honours in English from Royal Holloway, London.
We are always delighted to welcome 'old girls' back to share their success with our girls. Jennifer George, Editor's Assistant and Events Manager for Tatler magazine, Annette Watlow, Senior Advisor for BP, Di Spencer, Comedian and Cordelia Francis who is studying Veterinary Science all recently visited and gave inspirational talks to our Sixth Form girls as part of our popular Lecture Programme.
|“I am ‘over the moon’ that I have managed to gain entry into my first-choice university, St Mary’s Twickenham, to read Drama and Theatre Arts, having spent my whole school life here at BSG. I was one of the first girls to join the nursery when I was just a toddler. My A, B and C grades surpassed my expectations and an A grade in Drama is down to the amazing learning opportunities within the excellent Drama department and the support I have been given by my teachers throughout my time here.” Charlotte Hughes
|“Olivia Clayton and Lucy Wingate have been close friends from the age of 2, and through the last seven years here at BSG have celebrated tremendous success at A level. Lucy was Head Girl and Liv was Deputy Head Girl, so they had many calls on their time, yet Liv achieved A*AB (Business Studies, Drama and Religious Studies) and Lucy AAA (Biology, Chemistry and Drama). Liv goes on to read Business Management at her first-choice university, Birmingham, and Lucy will be heading to University after taking a gap year volunteering.” Fiona Donaldson, Modern Foreign Languages
