Sewing machines, tape measures and mood boards were at very much in evidence when fledgling fashion designers gathered for an inspiring summer workshop held at Bruton School for Girls.
Over three days in the summer holidays, girls aged between 7 and 12 were shown how to design and make their own summer top and a very fetching fascinator.
Mrs Lucy Fosh, DT and Textiles teacher, said: “The girls were all incredibly creative, listened well to instructions and really got to grips with sewing machines to produce excellent work which I was genuinely impressed with.
“I hope it has given them an understanding and an insight into designing garments so that they will have an eye for detail next time they are shopping for clothes!”
