Bruton's Ball helps children's charity

Sixth Formers who co-ordinate and plan the Bruton School for Girls’ annual Summer Ball have decided to donate proceeds from ticket sales to local charity, Lucy’s Day Out.

The Salisbury-based charity, which supports families with children who have life-limiting illnesses, has welcomed the gesture and hopes that the Ball is a resounding success.

The Sixth Formers, with willing help from a small committee of parents, organise and oversee the Black Tie event which is taking place on 4th July and which has an American Independence theme.

Miss Fiona Donaldson, Head of Sixth Form at BSG, explained:  “Having seen many of these girls grow and flourish academically during their time at school, it is equally brilliant to see them take on the challenge of putting together an event on this scale with the added charity focus.  Their drive and professionalism is a credit to them and with tickets being snapped up, I know that anyone attending will have an amazing time.”
