BBC School News Report

Bruton School for Girls is delighted to be part of the BBC News School Report - a project which gives students aged 11-18 the opportunity to research and produce their own news reports for a real audience. More than 1,000 schools across the UK took part in this diversity award-winning project last year when students reported on a wide range of issues, some even interviewed leading politicians.

Our teachers will help girls develop their journalistic skills so they can report on the stories that matter to them and make their voices heard.

School Report News Day takes place on 15 March 2018, and BSG girls will be producing stories and publishing them here on the website (see below).

The BBC links to each school webpage, providing a real audience for the reports. Some schools will also get the chance to work with BBC staff and see their work appear on television, radio or the BBC website.

The news reports our girls produced are shown below. You never know, you may be watching the next Kate Adie or Martha Kearney!
