Budding authors at Bruton School for Girls were treated to a master class in writing when best-selling children’s author, Virginia Bergin, visited the school.
She talked about her two books The Rain and The Storm and how she developed the characters and story lines. Her own personal story about how she loved writing creative stories as a child was very inspiring and prompted many questions from the audience of girls from Years 7-9.
School Librarian, Mrs Nikki Bance, said: “Virginia’s visit coincided with World Book Day and was a fantastic way to mark the occasion. The questions just kept flowing and there was a genuine interest in understanding what it takes to be an author as well as how Virginia develops her story ideas.”
Her visit also gave budding reporters the chance to interview Virginia as part of the BBC School Report project. Read the full interview here.
