Personal development is at the core of everything we do. We challenge our students to try new things, learn from failure and develop resilience and self-knowledge. We aim to enable all pupils to develop self-esteem and confidence, without arrogance, and to learn how to take responsibility for themselves and play an active role in the life of the school and world community.
There are many aspects of the curriculum and of extra-curricular activities that contribute to Personal Development. However, in scheduled Personal, Social and Health Education lessons there are four areas covered: Health and Wellbeing, Relationships, Living in the Wider World and Study Skills. Careers Education is another aspect of Personal Development which is incorporated in lessons.
