The new term has started well for Bruton School for Girls with three Sixth Formers celebrating after receiving offers for University places from Oxford and Cambridge.
Julia Wons from South Cheriton near Templecombe who is studying Physics, Maths and Further Maths will be reading Maths at St Catherine’s College Oxford; Emma Lipscomb from Shepton Mallet who studies Physics, Chemistry and Biology has been offered Natural Sciences at Trinity College Cambridge and Antonia Kielkowska from Poland has been offered a place at Pembroke College Cambridge to read Natural Sciences and is currently studying Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Head of Sixth Form, Miss Fiona Donaldson, said: “To have three Oxbridge offers is a superb achievement for our relatively small Sixth Form and a fantastic reflection on the calibre of students who choose to study at Bruton School for Girls.
“This year we had the highest number of Oxbridge applicants for some time with all five applicants invited for interviews – that’s just over 20% of the Upper Sixth cohort. We are incredibly proud of their preparation and dedication and will enjoy supporting them and all our other A Level students as they head towards final exams in the summer term.”
A special ‘Taste of Sixth Form’ day is being held on Thursday 3rd March when students looking at A Level study options can join our Sixth Form for the day to get a true insight into life as a Sixth Former. For more information or to book a place contact firstname.lastname@example.org
