On Tuesday 5th June, I went to London to the House of Commons where I interviewed Dr Sarah Hogan on her recent research paper about the effectiveness of Auditory Verbal therapy for deaf children with additional needs. It was a wonderful experience being able to meet other children with a hearing impairment and to hear how incredible their speech was. One of my highlights was also doing a subsequent radio interview for BBC Radio Wiltshire about AVUK and the work that they do to improve the future for deaf children.
The purpose of the event was to raise awareness on how effective auditory verbal therapy is, and to make it more widely available in the UK, as it is already in other countries across the world. Martha W, S2 Montacute.
