Six of our GCSE art students competed against students from King’s Bruton, Sexey’s School, King Arthur’s and Ansford in Bruton Art Society’s Five Schools Art Competition.
Lily Piper, Alex Chadfield, Coco Cheung, Estelle Spinner, Sophia Dugdale and Dee Sharp had work from their GCSE art exams judged by the Bruton Art Society panel.
The range and style of the art was considered, by judge Sophie Bellars of Salisbury Sixth Form College, to have ‘admirable skill, imagination and dedication’.
The work has been on display at the gallery for guests to admire and yesterday evening the girls attended the Private View and prize giving celebration at Hauser and Wirth, where the results were announced.
We are very pleased to congratulate Estelle Spinner, from Year 11, who was announced as the overall winner for her piece ‘Woodland Scene’ and was presented with a £50 cash prize.
This is fantastic news for Estelle and all of our art students and it is a very fitting accolade for Mr Brian Wyatt in his final term before he retires – well done everyone!
