Careers and Future Employment

We are really proud of the wide variety of higher education courses our girls pursue and the career paths they follow.  We aim to enable girls to achieve their aspirations.  More information can be found on our Leavers' Destinations page.  We often welcome back 'old girls' to share their experiences.

We have a well-stocked Careers area in Highcroft where students can research careers ideas and opportunities, and seek staff advice on universities, colleges and organisations.  Students can access information about specific courses, open days, financial matters, taking gap years and employment routes as well as cultural, social and sporting opportunities.  Guidance on UCAS application procedures, including entrance to Oxford and Cambridge, is available, together with information and advice about CVs, the preparation of personal statements and interview techniques.

All members of the Lower Sixth attend the annual Higher Education Convention at Bath or Exeter universities where they have the opportunity to talk to Admissions Tutors and find out more about the institutions in which they are interested.  We run an annual Careers Seminar Day for the Sixth Form and also a 'Cocktail of Careers' fair for all girls every other year.

There is a weekly Lecture Programme in term time outside of exam season, to which a wide range of inspirational speakers from all walks of life are invited to talk to the girls leaving them with much food for thought.  These lectures are also open to other local sixth formers and members of the public.
