As the summer holidays draw to a close, Bruton art student, Beth Moody, was celebrating winning top prize in the student category at the Bruton Art Society’s 62nd annual exhibition.
Beth, a current sixth former at BSG, was presented with the £100 winning prize in the school category for her piece in acrylics entitled ‘Family Portrait’.
The society’s annual exhibition, which was hosted at Bruton School for Girls during the final few weeks of August, put on a fabulous and varied display of local artistic talent.
The recently retired head of Art at Bruton School for Girls, Brian Wyatt, said:
“I’m so proud that for the second year running, one of our students has scooped the Society’s top student prize which is a wonderful reflection on the calibre of our A Level students at the school. And as Mrs Barbara Chmeil takes over from me as Head of Art, everything is in place for the department to continue to go from strength to strength in the new academic year.”
